Weekend Getaway: Four Seasons Vail

Weekend Getaway: Four Seasons Vail

Winter is finally here, which means that snow is covering the Colorado Rockies. What better way to celebrate the season than a trip to Vail, staying at the Four Seasons? We went for a quick weekend getaway in early December to hit the slopes.

Flying into Denver, we rented a Jeep and drove the scenic Interstate 70 out to Vail Valley. Upon arriving at the resort, we were warmly greeted and got help unloading our bags. A bellman then escorted us to the front desk, telling us a few things about the property. Checking in went smoothly, and our room was ready, even at 2 hours prior to check-in time. We excitedly went up to the room, located on the 7th floor. The room was stunning, with beautiful hardwood flooring in the entry and a massive stone fireplace. The bathroom was equally gorgeous with a large soaking tub, walk-in shower, and doubly vanity. The quality of materials used and craftsmanship was noticeable in a good way. It felt like staying at someone’s home, warm and inviting.

On the desk was a plate with chocolate covered strawberries and a chocolate frame welcoming us to Vail. Of course, it was delicious. We then unpacked our things in the large walk-in closet and headed out. Vail Village was only steps away with shops and eateries. The ski concierge was about 2 blocks away, handling your skis and rentals.

That night, we enjoyed dinner at Flame, the house restaurant. Our server was fantastic and the food divine.

The next morning, we got up to ski. We decided to ski Beaver Creek, since more trails were open. We hopped back in the Jeep and took the 15 minute drive to Avon. It was packed for the Birds of Prey race, but still a lot of fun. That is until I needed 5 stitches in my knee!

The staff at the Four Seasons found out I got stitches, and upon our return to the resort we had a hand written note, ice pack, bowl of popcorn and Vitamin Water in the room. Small touches like that really make a difference! I will never forget the service we had there.

So even though it wasn’t ski in/ski out, I will definitely return due to the level of service and quality of stay.
