The Olympics Torch Relay
In less than two weeks, Olympics fever kicks off in full force with the torch relay! It begins May 19 at Land’s End in Cornwall and will finally reach London on July 27, just in time for the Opening Ceremonies.
As the flame winds its way through the UK—including the islands of Jersey and Guernsey and the Isle of Man—it will pass within 10 miles of 95% of the population. The relay is a celebration of tradition, the Olympic values, and the United Kingdom’s diverse regions.
The torch will not only be carried by runners but also by boat, horseback, mountain bike, and even railway, zip line, and cable car!
